You can "show us your shoes" - a pair that you have decorated and will wow celebrity judges at the ¡Viva Zapatos! contest at the Fiesta kickoff event called Fiesta Fiesta, April 19 at the Alamo Plaza. The contest is brought to you by the San Antonio Express-News and the Fiesta San Antonio Commission.

Here's how ¡Viva Zapatos! will work:

Embellish a pair of shoes (go ahead and dedicate it to a real or fake Fiesta royal order, your pet or place or any other outrageous idea) and upload a photograph of it here. Be sure to include contact information. Hey, you could be a finalist.

A panel of judges will log on to this page at 5 p.m. Monday, and invite a group of finalists to walk the runway at during Fiesta Fiesta. You may also bring your shoes in person at the volunteer tent near the Menger Hotel, 3-4:30 p.m. April 19, and Fiesta Commission staff will be there to help.

• Prizes in the 13 and older category: (first) two round trip tickets from Southwest Airlines and two tickets to the Indy 500 race in May; (second): two round trip tickets from Southwest Airlines, and (third) Macy’s $250 gift card.

• Prizes in the 12 and younger category: (first) four season passes to Fiesta Texas; (second) three season passes to Fiesta Texas, and (third), four tickets to Santikos Theaters.

Additionally, throughout Fiesta’s 11-day run, shoe-loving San Antonian’s are encouraged to continue to upload their shoe photographs here, because an online winner will be selected when Fiesta is done — and that prize package will include free tickets to several of next year’s Fiesta events. Shoe images for the online contest can be uploaded here through 5 p.m. April 24. Then online judging begins April 25 and ends noon April 27.
